How to Succeed for Disney Acting Auditions

The truth is that disney acting auditions are really challenging experiences for young and adult actors. And by performing each time your role not only for disney auditions, you will be accumulating more acting experience which is great for a big opportunity, that will be critical for your success in a disney acting audition. It’s very important to take certain steps before playing your role in an audition, and this involves all type of physical and mental  activities.

In the first place, you most of the time will receive a small set of pages that will be used for your performance, you will have to read them and memorize them, the more you practice the more confident you will be when doing the action audition. If you were chosen to perform in a theater, be prepared for a monologue.

The next step to have in mind is prepare for the performing by building some background for your character, the factors to take in consideration are social background, age, origins and the context where the character is placed. It’s also important to know what your character thinks and feels besides even the same script you were given, that will give you more flexibility to express more convincingly your performance and be aware of what to expect from other characters from the script.
After getting familiar with your character, you can continue and start memorizing your lines, learn your lines not only by memorizing but understanding what you’re reading, this is a key factor to know how to express your emotions and behave under certain situations.

Warm up by doing exercises , as if you were about to play a football game, you need to do some vocal exercises , use a mirror in your bedroom to practice your movements and tones of your voice according to the lines of the script, put emotions and watch how your face reacts to part of the script,

Once the big day has come, you should wear clothes that are related to your character and the place this story develops. Be nice with the person that evaluates you, but don’t try to force things. If he talks to you, then follow up with the conversation, if he just don’t tell you anything, say goodbye with a handshake and leave professionally, without asking a review of your performance, by doing this you will demonstrate your experience, because it will appear as if you’ve been in many auditions.

If you got the interest of the director, he will call you, never asked him when he’s planning to make the calls,they have a very efficient staff that will let you know at the right moment if you passed the test, in case you are called to do an extra audition when you come back it’s very advisable to use the same clothes, that will give you more confidence when performing. Take advantage of days that happen between the first disney acting audition and the second, to keep practicing and perfecting your skills.

Hi Allen, this is one good question, as everything in life , you have to start somewhere, whether you’re looking into acting or any other job, but first of all.
You have to start asking yourself what type of acting you like the most, it could be films , Tv, commercials, theater, etc. Then you can start gathering information about the subject you chose, also it’s really important to start reading about acting techniques, here there is a list of acting books I recommend. But you’re task #1 in your to-do list to start up an acting career is studying in a school. Don’t think that getting into an audition and being chosen is something that you can do without training, it’s true that it can happen, but it’s like a lottery game. The most important thing is for you is to start building a solid acting technique by training. This has to be accompanied with the right acting school for you. Well, I hope that this tips can help you in your first steps to become an actor. Good luck.

hi I have a some experience and think i could make it on disney channel… I just have NO IDEA where to audition, or to find out about these casting calls! That is the only information I need lol.

My biggest dream is to be an actress, i’v had chances for the auditions, and they said i was good, but never the shot to audition for a role because they wanted my mom to pay for the photoshoot.(we didn’t have the money) i was 8 and i’m 14 now i’ve been trying ever since.
